Built-Ins in Macomb Township, MI

The great room is where that shows first. A wall-sized entertainment unit built to the room rather than bought as furniture solves the television, the components, the toys and the books at once, and it gives the largest room in the house a focal point it was framed without. We build these to the ceiling height, which in a nine or ten foot room means the top section reads as architecture rather than as a cabinet that stopped early. The second most requested piece here is the home office, because these subdivisions filled with people who now work from a bedroom — a desk wall with file drawers, upper shelving and a closed section for the printer turns a spare room into an office without a renovation. After that it is window seats in the bay windows these plans nearly all include and nobody uses, benches and cubbies in the back hall, basement bars and built-in bookcases flanking the fireplace where the drywall returns leave two dead alcoves. Everything is measured to the opening rather than fitted with scribe strips.
